Training & Development Program (and Training News)

Campus Human Resources' Training and Development Program serves all levels of University employees. Approximately 250 different courses and programs are offered annually in the areas of professional and supervisory development, human resource administration, communication, customer service, academic personnel, research administration, personnel and payroll policies and systems, business processes and operations, information technology, health and safety, and individual skills development.

Courses are conducted during normal working hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Fees are minimal, and release time is available for attending classes with supervisor's approval.

New classes from Campus Human Resources are continually offered to meet the ever-changing needs of the university. Look for descriptions in the Training and Development Catalog published quarterly and in the e-mail Training Mailer sent monthly.

An ongoing Level One Supervisory Certificate Series began in the year 2000. It is recommended for supervisors relatively new to supervision and those seeking to refresh skills and knowledge. The Series is designed to increase understanding of supervisory role requirements, strengthen awareness of behavioral strengths, and broaden mastery of employment policies and practices necessary to succeed in the direction of others.
