Re: UC People Management Certificate

Campus Human Resources is pleased to announce the UC People Management Certificate, which is designed for UCLA employees who manage or supervise others and consists of core and elective courses covering the following topics: Performance Management, Managing People, Administration and Operations, Change Management and Communications. This program consists of completing a series of eCourses and/or onsite workshops. This is part of an effort to increase people management capabilities across the UC system and is also open to staff who aspire to become managers or supervisors.

The benefits of the program include:

  • Establishing baseline people management skills
  • Building on or refreshing current knowledge base
  • Preparing participants for potential promotions or future leadership positions
  • Providing flexibility to complete the program with all online courses or a combination of online and in-person courses.

In order to obtain a People Management Certificate, participants will need to complete all 10 Core Courses and 4 Elective Courses (one from each competency). UC People Management eCourses and UCLA onsite elective courses are available through the UC Learning Center. And be sure to visit Lynda.com for the elective eCourses.

Please encourage supervisors and managers to consider the eCourses as a tool for ongoing development and ask them to share this information with their staff.
