Guidance for Managers & Supervisors Concerning H1N1 Influenza Type A

As you know, with the recent outbreak of H1N1 Influenza Type A (Swine Flu), the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has issued precautionary measures that individuals can take to stay healthy (see Related Information).

In this context, and to help clarify the application of University personnel policies and collective bargaining agreements related to use of sick leave and related issues, the University’s Office of the General Counsel has developed the attached Q&A entitled “Guidance for Managers and Supervisors Concerning H1N1 Influenza Type A (Swine Flu).”

We have adapted this document to include information pertinent to UCLA staff members, including resources that are available on campus. We will appreciate your sharing this information with managers and supervisors.
