As the next step in implementing the collective bargaining agreements between the University of California and the Service Unit (SX), Technical Unit (TX), Research Unit (RX) and Clerical Unit (CX), the following wage changes are effective July 1, 2006, for employees paid monthly and July 2, 2006, for employees paid biweekly.
Eligible employees for each of the following changes are those in the bargaining unit on active status or on an approved leave.
Service Unit (SX)
General Increase: All eligible employees in SX Titles Codes 5113, 5116 and 5117 will receive an across-the-board general increase of $0.01 per hour ($1.74 per month), including those over the maximum of the range.
Range Adjustment: All SX ranges will be increased by 1% (funded through a combination of the 0.5% IAP funds and the 0.5% equity funds available this fiscal year). As a result of this range movement, unit employees will receive a 1% salary increase, including those over the maximum of the salary range.
Shift Differential: All Shift Differentials for classifications within SX will increase by $0.10 (from $.47 to $.57).
Technical Unit (TX)
Title Specific Range Adjustments/Increases: The following TX classifications will receive range adjustments as indicated below:

Employees in these classifications will receive a salary increase consistent with the range movement. Those over the current maximum of the range will only receive an increase to the maximum of the new range.
Shift Differential: All Shift Differentials for classifications within TX will increase by $0.20 (from $.32 to $.52), with the exception of the Captionist and Interpreter for the Deaf classifications.
Research Unit (RX)
Shift Differential: All Shift Differentials for classifications within RX will increase by $0.20 (from $.32 to $.52)
Clerical Unit (CX)
Shift Differential: All Shift Differentials for classifications within CX will increase by $0.10 (from $.52 to $.62)
These changes will be implemented centrally. New rates will be updated in EDB on the evening of June 23, 2006, and will be available for review in EDB on June 24, 2006. New rates for biweekly paid employees will be reflected on the July 26, 2006, paycheck for which IPAY screens can be reviewed on July 21, 2006. New rates for monthly paid employees will be reflected on the August 1, 2006, paycheck for which IPAY screens can be reviewed on July 26, 2006. Employees hired between June 23 and June 30, 2006, will require a manual update by the EDB preparer.
