The California minimum wage increased to $8.00 per hour January 1, 2008. As in the past, the University will honor the new rate.
The new minimum wage will primarily affect the following titles:

Any employee earning less than $8.00 per hour, including those in the titles listed above, will be brought up to the new minimum wage effective December 30, 2007. These changes will be processed centrally.
Remember to keep the minimum wage in mind when hiring student assistants and employees into BYA titles in January.
