Wage Implementation for Lower-Wage CUE Represented Employees

The Coalition of University Employees (CUE) and the University have come to agreement on increases for CX unit employees who will receive the following increases:

  • Employees in a title for which the incumbents earn an average salary of less than $30,000 per year will receive a 1.5% salary increase;
  • Employees in a title for which the incumbents earn an average salary of $30,000 per year or more but less than $32,000 per year will receive a 1% salary increase;
  • Employees in a title for which the incumbents earn an average salary of $32,000 per year or more but less than $40,000 per year will receive a 0.75% salary increase.

In order to be eligible, employees must be in the bargaining on active status or an approved leave on the effective date of the increase and on the date of payout.

Increases are effective April 1, 2007, for monthly paid employees and March 25, 2007, for biweekly paid employees. Rate changes will soon be posted to the Title and Pay Plan.

Changes will be updated into EDB the evening of April 30, 2007, and records will therefore be available for review on May 1, 2007. Monthly paid employees will receive their increase, including retroactive pay, on their paycheck of June 1, 2007, and biweekly paid employees will receive their increase, including retroactive pay, on their paycheck of May 16, 2007.

Although increases for policy-covered employees are also effective on the same dates as stated above, the necessary programming to implement these changes is not yet available. Once the required program has been received, you will be notified of the processing schedule for increases to policy-covered staff.

UC is continuing to attempt to reach similar agreements with other unions that represent lower-paid employees. As soon as further developments are known, the information will be announced.

It is important to share this information within your organization with others who have a need to know. Contact your Compensation Consultant with any questions regarding these changes or Personnel Services for questions regarding EDB.
