Wage Increases for Health Care Professionals Unit (HX)

Pursuant to the agreement between the University Professional and Technical Employees Union (UPTE), UCLA will be implementing the following wage increases for Health Care Professionals Unit (HX) employees.

Please note the different effective dates and payout dates for each salary action.

Range Adjustment

Employee shall receive a 1% range adjustment effective May 1, 2011. Salary ranges will be adjusted accordingly. The new rates will be reflected on the paycheck of May 25, 2011, for biweekly paid employees and June 1, 2011, for monthly paid employees.

Lump Sum Payment

Eligible employees will receive a retirement eligible non-base building lump sum payment of $345.38 (equivalent to 1% of the HX unit payroll averaged over the period of December 2010 through April 2011). Eligibility for the lump sum payment requires, in part, that employees were on the payroll from December 1, 2010, through May 31, 2011, for monthly paid employees and May 14, 2011, for biweekly paid employees.

The lump sum payment will be reflected on the paycheck of July 6, 2011, for biweekly paid employees and July 1, 2011 for monthly paid employees.

Step Increase

Eligible HX employees will also receive a within range step increase of approximately 2%; for experienced-based titles, eligible employees will receive 1 step. The step increases will be effective on July 10, 2011 (for bi-weekly) and August 1, 2011 (for monthly).

The step increase will be reflected on the paycheck of August 3, 2011, for biweekly paid employees and September 1, 2011, for monthly paid employees.

In preparation for these wage increases, Campus Human Resources is requesting that you review appointments in EDB and ensure that the following fields are complete and accurate:

  • Appointment type
  • Salary (salary must correspond to actual step)
  • Step (step must correspond to actual salary)
