Re: 2013 UC Business Officer Institute
We are pleased to communicate UCOP’s call for nominations for the 2013 Business Officer Institute (BOI). This highly valued program is designed to provide a unique opportunity for employees with broad administrative responsibilities to learn more about the UC system as a whole and about the role of all business officers as stewards of the public trust.
BOI is available to employees who have broad decision-making and/or supervisory responsibilities in academic or administrative departments for matters related to budget, finance, systems, internal controls, human resources, and sponsored projects. Candidates must be classified at the Professional and Support Staff (PSS) Grade 4 (or above) or the Management and Senior Professional (MSP) grade level to be eligible for nomination. Managers and business officers of the University who have not already attended BOI in the past are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity.
The next BOI session will take place October 21-24, at the Irvine Marriott in Irvine, CA. For more information about program content, you may visit the BOI website in Related Information. Those interested in attending the 2013 session are encouraged to submit their nomination for one of the approximately 25 slots we expect to be allocated for the UCLA campus and Health System.

UCOP covers program and meal costs during the Institute (breakfasts, lunches, and breaks), as well as the Opening Reception Dinner on Monday, October 21st. Participants’ departments are expected to cover travel, parking, hotel accommodations, and dinners on October 22nd and 23rd.
