United Behavioral Health Transition

Beginning January 1, 2008, the behavioral-health benefits for UC employees enrolled in Health Net, Blue Cross Plus, Blue Cross and Cigna PPO plans and Kaiser will be provided by United Behavioral Health (UBH). While this will be business-as-usual for Blue Cross PPO and many Blue Cross Plus members, all Health Net members, including those transitioning from PacifiCare, and all Blue Cross Plus members who use out-of-network UBH providers may be required to change providers.

Employees who are required to change providers may be eligible for Transition-of-Care (TOC). This means that Health Net members who are in treatment with a Managed Health Network provider who is not also in the UBH network, or Blue Cross Plus members who use a UBH out-of-network provider may continue to see their current provider under the TOC benefits for up to six months after January 1, 2008, as clinically necessary and as approved by UBH. Additional information about TOC is provided in Related Information.

To determine if a provider is in the UBH network and to find out more about UBH and the TOC benefit, visit the UBH website and enter the access code: 11280. To contact UBH by phone, call (888) 440-8225.

The UCLA Staff & Faculty Counseling Center (SFCC) is available to help employees with referrals to local behavioral healthcare providers on the UBH network and with TOC issues. To schedule an appointment or get more information, call SFCC at (310) 794-0245g.
