UCLA K4 Bargaining Update - Jan. 27, 2022

The University and Teamsters Local 2010 met for their fourth bargaining session on Thursday, January 27, 2021.

In their initial proposals, both Teamsters Local 2010 and the University indicated their intent to propose a new article regarding Respectful and Fair Treatment. The University also notified the Union, in its initial proposal, of its intent to propose a similar proposal regarding Work Rules. UCLA passed proposed language for a new article on Work Rules [insert link to UCLA Proposal No. 1 for Work Rules] on January 21, 2022 and also passed proposed new language for an article on Respectful and Fair Treatment [insert link to UCLA Proposal No. 1 for Respectful and Fair Treatment] on January 25, 2022. Similar articles are contained in the Teamsters' Local 2010 Clerical Unit Agreement (CX) as Article 33 (Respectful, Fair Treatment) and Article 48 (Work Rules). Additionally, all of the University staff contracts contain work rules articles.

The Union summarily rejected both of the University’s proposals regarding Work Rules and Respectful and Fair Treatment, without presenting a counter.

The parties plan to meet in person next Tuesday, February 1, 2022.
