Applications for the Chancellor’s 2012 Diversity Leadership Scholarships to one of five diversity Leadership Institutes offered by UCLA Anderson’s Office of Executive Education are now being accepted. These scholarships are made possible by the generous support of Dean Judy Olian. Employees must be classified as Management and Senior Professional (MSP) Grade 1 and above to apply.
A three-day, on-campus session is the hub of this five-month leadership experience, with extensive pre-work, assessments, and coaching. Over the length of each program, several components are delivered via web conferencing with faculty and fellow participants. Each participant takes two personal assessments, enjoys three sessions with an executive coach, participates in two Coaching Cluster web conferences, and employs an Action Journal to create a personalized Leadership Action Plan. During the three-day on-campus session, key topics include:
- Leadership strategy and achieving extraordinary leadership potential
- Career management and action planning
- Negotiation skills
- Effective team decision-making
- Mentorship and career-enhancing relationships
The deadline for applications to a Selection Committee that will make scholarship recommendations is November 18, 2011. The schedule appears below.

The UCLA Leadership Institutes are ideal for those with five or more years experience managing people and/or projects. A personal commitment to leadership development, to building your career at UCLA, and the ability to invest the time to fully participate in all aspects of the program are essential to participant success.
An announcement of the Scholarships will be made in early January 2012. One scholarship is offered for each Institute. Eligible and interested employees who are not selected for a scholarship are encouraged to consider this developmental opportunity and apply directly to UCLA Anderson by the relevant deadline for their program of interest. A 30% employee discount is available for eligible UCLA managers and senior staff.
Early application is recommended, since space is limited.
