After receiving extensive input from the UC community, including thousands of emails from faculty and staff, President Yudof announced in a letter to the UC community the proposal for the Board of Regents regarding systemwide furloughs and/or salary reductions. On July 16, 2009, The Regents approved the proposal, which goes into effect on September 1, 2009.
