Nominations for Professional Development and Staff Enrichment Programs

Nominations are now being accepted for the annual Professional Development (PDP) and Staff Enrichment (SEP) Programs. As UCLA plans for the future, it is important to build leadership and professional competencies, implement strategies to transfer institutional knowledge, and expand career growth opportunities for UCLA’s diverse workforce.

As two of the most successful career development programs, PDP and SEP assist the University in the development and retention of a highly skilled, diverse, and motivated professional staff. The programs have a demonstrated record of enhancing skills, strengthening institutional loyalty, and broadening participants' knowledge of University affairs.

Professional Development Program
The Professional Development Program is beginning its 30th year and the program features several components, including advanced skills training, mentoring, coaching, networking, and leadership development. Participants design and execute an individual Capstone Project that enhances their department or organization’s operational functioning, with an emphasis on developing and tracking metrics of project impact and success.

Additional program information, as well as application instructions can be accessed on the Professional Development Program web page.

Staff Enrichment Program
The Staff Enrichment Program is beginning its 45th year. This highly successful, one-year program is designed to foster career development and provide skill-building opportunities for staff in administrative support positions. Participants design and execute an individual Capstone Project that enhances their own or department’s operational functioning, while building skills that aid career advancement within the University.

While both programs are highly sought-after career growth opportunities, they are aimed at different staff populations and have separate eligibility criteria. Interested applicants should review the program descriptions and eligibility requirements before applying. The application period closes for both programs on Sunday, April 14, 2024.
