Regents to Consider SMG Pay Freeze, Enrollment Limits

To cope with insufficient state funding for enrollment growth and continuing budget cuts due to the state's financial crisis, UC President Mark G. Yudof will ask the Board of Regents on January 14 to consider propsals to curtail undergraduate enrollment growth, freeze the salaries of top administrators and significanlyt restrict compensation for a large group of senior leadership. The latter proposal also includes restrictions on bonus and incentive payments for certain employees under the systemwide Staff Recognition and Development Program.

We will provide further information and guidelines regarding incentive/bonus awards under UCLA's Staff Achievement Award program and similar local programs as soon as they are available.

The proposals are posted on the Regents' website and can be accessed in Related Information.
