UCOP Launches New Website for Employees and Retirees

The Office of the President (OP) has launched UCnet, a new website for faculty, staff and retirees that focuses on the UC experience.


UCnet is the fruit of more than two years of development by OP’s communications team and is part of a broader strategic initiative to improve the University’s websites. The site will help employees and retirees keep up with what’s happening at UC, find information about benefits and policies, and quickly access their personal accounts.

The information and resources available from At Your Service (AYS) are being incorporated into UCnet, so you’ll be able to find the same information and perform the same functions on UCnet for which you use AYS now. The new site will just look a little different. Once UCnet goes live, AYS will no longer be available. However, At Your Service Online (AYSO), the password-protected portal that you use to access your personal pay and benefits information, will continue to exist.

“UCnet is designed to be a source of news and a home for resources and transactions for UC employees and retirees,” said Paul Schwartz, UC’s director of internal communications. “Our goal was to give employees and retirees a site that makes it easy to get information, conduct personal business and stay connected with the UC community.”

UCnet is organized into the following sections, each with its own distinct focus:

  • “News” will offer visitors news stories about the University. It will be organized around five categories including administration, employment, and people.
  • “Working at UC” will include in-depth stories about faculty and staff, opportunities to connect with people at other campuses, and links to campus websites around the system. The section will also contain information about career development and work-life balance.
  • “Compensation & Benefits” will include guidance on how to handle a life event, such as maternity leave, changing jobs within UC, or preparing for retirement.
  • “Tools & Services” is the go-to page when searching for a policy, data tools, or information about UC’s libraries. The section will also contain details on travel services, publishing, research grants, wellness, and safety on the job.


A link to UCnet is located on the Campus Human Resources portal, so you can access the new site from many different sources. With the launch of UCnet, you’ll have the opportunity to stay connected to UC services, resources, and tools whenever you need them.
