Re: Proposed Revisions to PPSM 64 – Termination of Career Employees and PPSM 70 – Complaint Resolution

The University of California Office of the President is proposing revisions to PPSM 64 – Termination of Career Employees (Professional & Support Staff) and PPSM 70 – Complaint Resolution. The policies apply to staff employees in the Professional & Support Staff and Managers & Senior Professionals personnel programs.

The revisions are intended to do the following:

  • Consolidate the three termination policies into one policy document
  • Merge the two complaint resolution policies into one policy document
  • Add a job abandonment provision to the termination policy

Because this is a formal review, comments from policy-covered staff are encouraged and will be considered before the final policies are adopted. We would appreciate your assistance in circulating the drafts to policy-covered staff in your organization.

Questions and comments from campus staff should be directed to Anthony Solana, Jr., Director, Employee & Labor Relations, at asolana@chr.ucla.edu or from Health System staff to Maure Gardner, Director, Employee/Labor Relations & Compensation Programs, at mgardner@mednet.ucla.edu by Thursday, April 21, 2016.

Sincerely,

Lubbe Levin
