CHR Training is offering training courses and workshops in a wide range of categories. The following are highlights of upcoming workshops this May. We look forward to seeing you in class!
Management and Supervisory Development:
Communication Skills for Supervisors - Learn proven techniques to improve communication, increase cooperation, and inspire motivation. Class covers key concerns for supervisors: giving constructive performance feedback and enhancing the relationship between supervisors and their workgroups. This class meets on May 27th.
Technology and Software:
PowerPoint - Create professional grade presentations quickly and easily with this very versatile software. Learn how to incorporate graphs, charts, visuals, and custom animation. Class is on May 27th.
Excel - Learn about the spreadsheet capabilities of Excel and how to use worksheet commands, formulas, the toolbar, formatting, copying, and moving cells. Multiple offerings are scheduled throughout May.
Financial Management:
Overview of University Tax Issues - If you have responsibility for managing departmental tax issues, then this class is for you. Learn about various tax issues affecting the University, such as sales and use tax, payments to non-residents, and classifying workers as Independent Contractors. Class is held on May 12th.
Business Systems:
UCLA Accounting - Learn about the basic structure of the UCLA Financial System (FS) and related source systems, classification of financial entities – the Full Accounting Unit (FAU), fund accounting concepts, and more. Anyone who initiates accounting transactions, or reviews or reconciles financial system ledgers is encouraged to attend. Don’t miss this class on May 13th.
