2019 Management Skills Assessment Program
Deans, Directors, Department Chairs, and Administrative Officers
2019 Management Skills Assessment Program (MSAP)
Campus Human Resources (CHR) is pleased to announce that recruitment is now open for the 2019 Management Skills Assessment Program (MSAP).
The program is designed to assess the management skills of high potential, early career supervisors, managers and professionals for future leadership opportunities at the University. All University of California campuses will participate in the three-day assessment program scheduled to take place at the UCLA Lake Arrowhead Conference Center.
MSAP enables participants to identify managerial strengths, determine areas for improvement, learn about the range of skills necessary for effective management, and practice those skills in a supportive environment. Participants work with an assigned assessor to design an individualized professional development plan.
Applications are currently being accepted for both spring and fall 2019 programs, scheduled for April 8-11, 2019 and October 14-17, 2019, respectively. We strongly recommend that department heads discuss MSAP with supervisors, managers, and professionals who exhibit potential for management development and encourage them to apply.
Eligibility requirements for UCLA participants include:
- Classification at PSS Grades 2-6 and equivalent
- Full-time career status with a current, satisfactory (or better) performance evaluation
- Designation as a supervisor or manager
Participants will be selected based on an evaluation of the applicant’s (1) career goals in management, (2) level of skills essential for performing management functions, and (3) demonstrated career path and/or strong commitment to management skill development.
You may find additional information along with the 2019 MSAP application (including applicant and supervisor components) on the Management Skills Assessment Program website.
The cost of the program is $1,350 (including all materials, room and meals for the length of the program), payable through departmental recharge or personal check to UCLA Campus Human Resources.
Completed applications must be submitted online by 5 p.m., Monday, January 7, 2019. For more information, contact Darlene Mininni at [email protected] or (310) 794-7685.
