2012-13 Management Seminar Series

DEANS, DIRECTORS, DEPARTMENT CHAIRS and ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICERS

Re: 2012-13 Management Seminar Series

I am pleased to invite campus leaders, including faculty, managers, and senior professional staff, to participate in the 2012-13 Management Seminar Series. The theme of this year’s new series is “Your Changing Role: Strategies and Tools to Manage Complexity,” and it continues our partnership with UCLA Anderson’s Executive Education Program.

The program, designed to strengthen management competencies to effectively lead a diverse workforce in a fast-changing and challenging work environment, features presentations by national experts in their fields and interactive dialogue with campus peers and colleagues. This year’s program brings back acclaimed contributors on fresh topics and includes faculty from outside the University.

Quarterly sessions are offered on the following topics:

  • Strategies for Conflict Management, Maia Young, December 4, 2012
  • How to Grow Yourself & Effectively Lead Others, Karl Kuhnert, February 8, 2013
  • Flexible Management: Using Communication & Influence to Better Manage Up & Across, Bob McCann, March 6, 2013
  • Bringing the Future to the Present, Iris Firstenberg, April 3, 2013

For more information about the series, review our eBrochure in Related Information. To enroll, please visit the UC Learning Center.

Package enrollments enjoy priority, since space is limited. Departments may reserve a package and designate different participants for individual seminars, provided they notify us in advance of their participation. The fee for a complete Seminar Series Package is $500 and $165 for individual seminars.

We appreciate your ongoing support of CHR Training and Development efforts to enhance leadership preparation. Please contact the Training Desk (training@chr.ucla.edu) for enrollment assistance and Robert Gibson (rgibson@chr.ucla.edu) for program information. We look forward to seeing you at the 2012-13 Management Seminar Series.

Sincerely,

Lubbe Levin
