Dear Colleagues:
I am writing to request nominations for participation in our annual Professional Development Program and to encourage you to consider this valuable opportunity for members of your staff. As we plan for the future, it is important to build management competencies and develop strategies to transfer institutional knowledge within our workforce.
The Professional Development Program (PDP), offered each fiscal year through Campus Human Resources, Training and Development, is a career development program beginning its 13th year. PDP assists the University in the development and retention of a highly skilled, diverse and motivated professional staff. The program has a demonstrated record of enhancing skills, strengthening institutional loyalty and broadening participants’ knowledge of University affairs.
The program features several components, including advanced skills training, mentoring, networking and career assessment. Participants work with department sponsors on special projects of importance to UCLA, enabling them to demonstrate professional skills to campus leaders. Participation requires departmental endorsement and participant commitment.
I encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity for staff at PSS Grades 2 - 6 and equivalent Programmer/Analyst levels to participate in this unique experience.
