Professional Development Program Nominations (2009-10)

Applications for the Professional Development Program (PDP) are now being accepted. It is important to build management competencies, implement strategies to transfer institutional knowledge, and expand career growth opportunities for UCLA’s diverse workforce and one of the best—and fastest—ways to do just that is to participate in PDP.

The program is offered each fiscal year through Campus Human Resources, Training and Development, and is now in its 15th year. PDP assists the University in the development and retention of a highly skilled, diverse, and motivated professional staff. The program has a demonstrated record of enhancing skills, strengthening institutional loyalty, and broadening participants' knowledge of University affairs.

It features several components including advanced skills training, mentoring, networking, and career assessment. Participants work with department sponsors on special projects of importance to UCLA, enabling them to demonstrate professional skills to campus leaders. Participation requires departmental endorsement and participant commitment.

Staff at PSS Grades 2 - 6 and equivalent Programmer/Analyst levels are strongly encouraged to participate in this unique experience. Further information and program applications are available in Related Information. In addition, you may contact Program Coordinator, Marsha Coutin, at extension 4-0853, or via email at Marsha@chr.ucla.edu.

The deadline for completed applications is May 22, 2009, and the program begins in July 2009.

Staff leaders of the future are developed in PDP, so now is the time to invest in yourself by applying for the 2009-10 program.
