Domestic Violence Notice

The University of California has issued a new domestic violence flyer that need to be made available to all new employees, as well as current employees upon request, to inform them of their rights to take time off as a result of domestic violence, sexual assault or stalking.

This notice is in accordance with AB 2337, effective July 1, 2017, which requires employers with 25 or more employees to provide employees with written notice about the rights of victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking to take protected time off for medical treatment or legal proceedings. Additionally PPSM 2.210: Absence from Work policy outlines accommodations for non-represented staff to take time away from work if they are a victim of domestic violence, sexual assault or stalking.

The notice is posted on UCnet “Mandatory Employment Notices/Posters,” along with a Spanish translation.
