How to Submit an Employment Contract Request

A contract appointment has definite begin and end dates, with terms of employment clearly identified in the written document. An Organization Head or designee may establish a contract position in consultation with Campus Human Resources (CHR) Compensation & Employment Services. An approved job description is required for all contract positions.

To initiate an employment contract, Preparers and/or Submitters must log into the PeopleAdmin system and under the Job Descriptions heading, click on “Begin New Action (JD or Contract)” and follow the steps from there.

Employment contracts cannot be used for positions covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement.
